Info / Rules / Guidelines

Welcome to the Classic RPG Shrine!

This is a club in which we showcase different varieties of artwork based on RPG's from before the time of the Nintendo 64 and Sony PlayStation.

:bulletyellow: Do not flame or harass other members.

:bulletgreen: Respect all staff, members, watchers and artists.

:bulletblue: Any stolen artwork will be denied and you will be banned from the club, as well as reported to the DeviantArt staff. We take this offense very seriously.

:bulletred: All artwork from RPG's during the N64 and PSX eras, as well as the following generations, will be denied.

:bulletpurple: Crossover artwork is absolutely welcome. However, all characters involved need to be from pre-N64/PSX era.

:bulletblack: All types of artwork are allowed: poetry, traditional, digital, photography/cosplay, and so on.

:bulletwhite: A final note, as we have Zelda II: The Adventure of Link as a folder here, this is only because that specific game is technically a platformer with RPG elements, thus qualifying for our group, much in vein of Faxanadu. However, we will not accept any of the other Zelda games as they do not meet this particular criteria.

We hope you enjoy your time here!
Hey everyone! Goodness, I can't believe it's May already, this year's flying right on by, it seems.

On a personal note, I haven't been up to a whole lot, however I've begun delving into the world of RGB-modding for retro consoles, which is the best option if you wish to get the best video possible out of your beloved consoles: I attempted the mod with very basic soldering skills and messed up, now the video on my SNES Mini doesn't output properly with composite (shows up in red now) and RGB doesn't work at all, unless you call black and very dark-green outlines (almost too dark to even see) "working." So, I need to get a new SNES Mini, RGB amp and attempt once again. Should be better this time around, since I know what I'll be doing better.

I will be opening up a service for this, among other console and handheld mods (frontlighting for GB/GBC/GBA for example), I'm also fairly experienced in changing dead save batteries as I've had to do this a couple of times in the past for myself. You'll be able to send your own console to me for cheaper and I'll do all of the modifications for you, and it all comes with a free cleaning whether it's a save battery repair and your game needs some TLC, or it's your console, which'll still get a free cleaning. Or you can buy a pre-modded console from me, once I start getting better and confident in my skill and think my work could survive the shipping! :XD:

That aside, not much else has been going on for me! Just preparing for summer which, as I've said before, is my personal favorite season, especially for RPGs. It seems we're going to have an early summer, it's already getting decently hot during the days.

Well, I hope you all are having lovely weather as well lately and let's keep high faith that it remains (or gets better, if your weather hasn't been so pleasant). Take care everyone, have a very safe week!

For you Super Mario RPG fans, there's a petition going around to get Square to allow Nintendo to use Geno for Smash. Just thought you'd wanna know.…
